fake it to ya make it

Hey I'm Phil - I build software usually with AI in the mix — and now AI is building the software itself so im just enjoying the ride.

I truly believe the best way to get ahead is just by reading, trying things out, being open-minded, and ofc embrace change. With technology at the cusp of one of the largest advancements in human history, there is an abundance of unknowns and worries - but for me, mostly excitment.

While I believe in what Yann LeCun says about llms - that they may not be the right answer to all our questions - I also believe we have barely scratched the surface of what they can fully do for us. Transformers were introduced in 2017, but the world didn't embrace the potential until the end of Nov 2022 - chatgpt dropped. Now, in the world of agents, I perfer to call mine FBI Special Agents, b/c ppl take themselves too serious, There is a chance for a new wave of builders.

I made this whole website with opus 4.6 and one prompt, crazy. The sad thing tho is I wrote all the content by myself w/o AI. Could you tell? Same with song on the page - I played the guitar and Suno handled the rest (something I could never have done before). Thats why I say: fake it to you make it- figure it out. While all these new ways AI changing our lives, I'll be putting out my thoughts here. If you're crazy enough to read along, let me know what you think.

Cheers

Beyond the code

Music is the other constant — whether it be playing guitar, bass, or piano by myself or going to concerts/live music, you always need gud tunes. Big deadhead, classic rock, blues, jazz, funk, anything other than pop really.

Travel is best way to spend money. Food is life. Movie buff and cinematography. Chess is fascinating. I also used to worked at a golf course (where they filmed Happy Gilmore 2) and love the game, but mostly for the Caddyshack vibes - s/o Fiddler's. Paddle is the best sport, and no, thats not pickleball.
